The Healthcare Association of Hawaii (HAH) provides legislative and regulatory advocacy at all levels of government - federal, state, and county.

At the state, and county level, HAH represents the membership by supporting legislation that is in the collective interests of its members and their patients/ residents. As well as supporting legislation, HAH works to ensure that laws and regulations provide a reasonable, equitable, and simplified environment in which health care facilities can provide high quality and affordable health care.

At the Federal level, HAH partners with the American Hospital Association (AHA), the American Health Care Association (AHCA), the National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC) and the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) to work on important federal legislation and regulations which impacts our state's health care facilities.

A key to the Association's past successes has been member participation in the Government Relations Committee (GRC). HAH assists in facilitating discussions and providing background information to the GRC on legislative and regulatory issues. Also invaluable to past achievements have been the close working relationships established with elected and appointed officials, and the other health care associations.

If you have any questions regarding the GRC or any legislative issues, contact John Kawamoto at (808) 521-8961.
