| Who We Are
In 2001 the Home Care Association of Hawaii merged with HAH, forming the only association in the nation representing the entire continuum of care. HAH now represents all of the acute hospitals, two-thirds of the long term care beds, home care agencies and hospices, as well as community based providers, supporting organizations, and affiliate and associate members which provide services and supplies to the industry.
HAH is affiliated with the American Hospital Association (AHA), the American Health Care Association (AHCA), the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL), and the National Association for Home Care (NAHC).
The primary mission of HAH is to represent and advocate for our members, the state's health care system and the health care of Hawaii's citizens with Congress, the state legislature, government agencies and departments, the news media and the public. For instance, HAH has focused considerable efforts towards reducing the number of individuals in Hawaii who do not have health care insurance and educating decision makers on the need for adequate payments to providers to cover the cost of care.
The delivery of health care services is changing rapidly. Health care administration, reimbursement, advances in medical and surgical management of disease, research and development of new pharmaceuticals, health care products and services have altered our health care status and how we perceive the quality of our lives now and our confidence in being able to access health care in the future. | Our purpose is to serve you. Being a member of HAH has many benefits. Learn about the services we provide for you. We at HAH aim to serve Hawaii's healthcare community with professionalism and quality work.
