Overview

The Joint Commission (TJC) accredits and certifies nearly 24,000 healthcare organizations and programs. Joint Commission Resources (JCR) is the education arm and works to continuously improve the safety and quality of healthcare in the United States and in the international community through the provision of education, publications, consultation, and evaluation services.

Preparing for a healthcare survey is no small task—it’s an ongoing challenge that demands up-to-date knowledge and team alignment. Join us as we engage with leading experts from JCR to gain critical insights into the latest regulatory and survey updates and trends.

Program Objectives:

  1. Discuss the Joint Commission 360 accreditation process, including ways to identify and manage risk points.

  2. Identify infection control risks and prevention strategies, including how to prepare for high-consequence infectious disease management.

  3. Understand the regulations and requirements for the physical environment including areas of water management, emergency management, utility system risks, and life safety.

  4. Understand the national performance goals and strategies to promote suicide risk prevention, reduce  communication failures, and effectively manage alarms.

  5. Outline chapter highlights, frequently cited standards, and related compliance strategies.

  6. Identify needs and methods for Performance Improvement in all areas with recommendations of some high focused areas.

Target Audience

Target audience includes all acute care personnel responsible for compliance including but not limited to physicians, COOs, CNOs, clinical managers and directors, infection preventionists, quality improvement, accreditation personnel, pharmacists, facilities leaders and staff, and emergency management staff.

Julie McCord, MPH, MSN, NP-C, CIC

Background

Ms. Julie McCord served as a System Director of Infection Control for a large non-profit integrated healthcare delivery system, including acute care hospitals, ambulatory care, and long-term care facilities. With over 38 years of experience in infection control, she is certified as an Adult and Gerontological Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners since 2016 and certified in infection control (CIC) since 1992.

She has presented on a national, state, and regional level on Remote Surveillance, Clostridium Difficile, MRSA, the role of Infection Prevention in construction-related activities, and many other topics. Ms. McCord has presented at the National Premier Conference in 2023 on Remote Surveillance and at the 2024 National Premier Conference in Baltimore, Maryland on Clostridium difficile improvements.

Ms. McCord has published a study on Reduction of Clostridium Difficile utilizing a hydrogen peroxide disinfection system; and has also written articles for the Mississippi Nurse Association on Clostridium Difficile and Antimicrobial stewardship and resistance.

Ms. McCord is an active member of the Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) on a national and local level. She has served on the Practice Guidance Committee, Public Policy and Bylaws Committee. Ms. McCord served as past president of the local chapter and received a National APIC award and recognition on contributions related to OSHA TB rule.

Location

This conference will be held at the Ala Moana Hotel located at 410 Atkinson Dr. in Honolulu, HI, 96814. The training will be in the Hibiscus Ballroom I, on the 2nd floor above the lobby.

Parking validation (10 hours) for self-parking in the hotel parking garage will be provided. Please note valet parking is not covered.

Refreshments will include the following:

  • Continental breakfast inclusive of coffee, tea and juice

  • Coffee and tea at the morning break

  • Buffet-style lunch

  • Snack and cold beverages at the afternoon break


Registration Fees

Registration includes access to the conference, associated presentation materials as issued by JCR, continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments, 10-hour validated self-parking in the Ala Moana Hotel’s parking garage, and the ability to download/print your CE certificate upon completion of the requirements. Attendance at all sessions on both days is a requirement to receive a CE certificate.

The following rates are per individual. Split registrations are not accepted. Registration is not final until payment has been received.

Member Rate:

  • Regular Registration Rate (effective 8/01/26 - 8/27/26): $1250 per person

Non-Member Rate:
